(Easy As) Apple Pie Mini Cinnamon Rolls with Dulce de Leche ๐๐
Except making apple pie is actually hard.
Hello and welcome back to Five Things I Ate! This week, we take a little break from our Long Weekend in New York series to drop my latest fall recipe. Read past posts here, and please follow my Instagram, @fivethingsiate.
Yโall. In all my years of Very Shitty Apartment Ovens, I do not know why I never considered simply buying a countertop convection oven! You all know how much I love replicability and portability and a mini oven satisfies both of those interests. Toaster oven technology has really, really advanced in the last few years and I simply didnโt realize how you can basically have a super reliable, high-tech mini oven no matter how many times you move. After wrangling with my shoebox-sized electric (?!) oven with Mystery Smoking Substance on the bottom for one too many times, I decided to invest in a Breville, which seems to have a really loyal fanbase. There are many advanced and larger models, but I went for a Compact Smart Oven, which is one of the simplest models, because it was under 200 bucks and satisfied all my needs. (Hereโs the link.) Itโs honestly been a total game changer. Iโve used it at least twice a day since Iโve gotten it, making everything from super crispy pita pizzas to reheating leftovers. But my favorite use so far? Baking, of course.
I wanted to test how the Breville would fare with yeasted goods, but I was on a short time budget, so I whipped up some cinnamon rolls using half a package of Trader Joeโs pizza dough. I honestly didnโt expect much, but the results were so great I might make cinnamon rolls like this all the time now?!
